Fire Horse Cane Corso… why the name “Fire Horse” you ask? Our search for an apt name took us to the Chinese zodiac. When you combine the fire and the horse, you get a stubborn, intense, over-achiever type. Perfect!

We are seasoned hobby breeders of authentic Italian Cane Corso, nestled into a few wooded acres in rural Chester County, Pennsylvania, USA. We are located approximately one hour southwest of Philadelphia. Our mission is to preserve and further the traditional Italian Cane Corso… to always work toward the “total package”. It is not enough for our dogs to be strikingly beautiful, powerful and elegant. Our highest priority is given to temperament. We build rock solid family guardians… sound in mind and body, harmonious in form and function. We do NOT follow trends. We honor tradition.  We are active in conformation showing, obedience and protection training and we participate in a variety of dog sports. In October 2005, we hosted the first all Cane Corso working event in the USA, the 2005 Corso Throwdown, in conjunction with the 2005 ICCF National Specialty. We have shown our dogs in some of the most prestigious conformation shows in the USA and Europe… Westminster Kennel Club, AKC/Eukanuba National Championship, The Euro Show and more. We have competed in PSA (protection sport) trials, attained working and temperament certifications and introduced our dogs to the public at major AKC “Meet the Breeds” events across the country. Along the way, our dogs have appeared in national print media and television broadcasts .  We live and breathe Cane Corso here.

The dogs in our breeding program are the product of our own Fire Horse lines, as well as FCI pedigreed Italian Cane Corso stock imported from Europe. The building blocks of our foundation include noted Champions Jones, Chilli, Bayron, Ron, Molly and Yurak… some of the best examples of Degli Olmi and Dyrium bloodlines. I have had the privilege of having my hands on most of these dogs and many other ancestors and relatives of our dogs.  Our litters are planned with very specific goals in mind and our pups are handled, nurtured, stimulated and socialized from birth in order to maximize their mental and physical development potential. A Fire Horse puppy is more than just a baby Cane Corso. It is the result of years of research, study and hands-on experience; numerous trips to Europe for shows, breedings and visits to some of the most significant Corso kennels as well as an uncompromising commitment to producing the best possible dogs. The Fire Horse method has proven to be successful… we have produced numerous AKC, ICCF, ARBA and Rarities/NAKC conformation Champions and Grand Champions, Bred by Exhibitor Champions, AKC Puppy Stars, AKC Canine Good Citizens, Therapy Dog International certified therapy dogs and some of the best PennHip scores in our breed.  We have also produced some of the most notable stud males in the USA.  Our boys are delivering the next generation of quality to many of the top Cane Corso programs, including our own.  Fire Horse dogs are known world wide for their stable and protective character, as well as their traditional Italian Cane Corso breed type.  Our dogs are an indispensable part of not only our family, but many others as well and we expect that one of our pups would be a loved and loving member of your family, too. We place our pups only with families that we feel can offer this type of care and commitment and we offer extensive support to those that join our Fire Horse family.

Our program has received some very important assistance from the following: Thanks to Sarka and Radek Bajerova of Machova kraje / Of Bajer, Luigi Di Rienzo of Valle Dei Lord and Alfonso Ventola of Collina Del Corso. Grazie!
